Food and Arts Festival

The Torquay Food and Arts Festival returned to to Union Square and the Market Forum on 30 April/1st May 2010.

Award winning Chef Richard Hunt hosted the cookery theatre again. He invited some of his regionally renowned colleagues to join him over the 2 day event demonstrating their signature dishes and challenging the public to join in. Taste of the West and Creative Torbay booked a great variety of local food and arts stalls to sell their products and demonstrate their skills.

In autumn 2009, this event increased foot fall through Union Square by 22%. It also brought people to town who had not been here before or for many years. The BID will look to grow this event over the years so that Torquay’s Food and Arts Festival becomes a diary stopper.
