TORBAY BIDS

map

Which area will it cover?

BIDs apply to a specific geographic area and it would be impractical to set up one BID for the whole of Torbay. We are therefore proceeding on a town by town basis.

The Torquay BID was launched successfully in 2010 and the scheme is bringing many benefits to the town. Vacancy rates have fallen, the town is cleaner and footfall is increasing as a result of some major marketing campaigns funded by the BID.

We would like Paignton to benefit in a similar way and look forward to a positive vote in February 2011. The Paignton BID Business Plan reflects the priorities that the business community in Paignton, have told us will make a difference to their bottom line and the greater interests of Paignton as a whole.

Brixham, St. Marychurch, Babbacombe and Plainmoor are investigating BIDs of their own. Like Torquay and Paignton should these BIDs be successful they will be centrally managed by Torbay Town Centres Company. Collectively these BIDs will represent the interests of more than 1500 businesses across the Bay.
